Will Oasis be back in 2025?

Yes, we know what you’re thinking. Rumors about the reunion of Oasis have been circulating every month since 2009. But this time, things might be different…

Usually, it’s always the same thing. Either it’s Liam pranking everyone by posting long tweets saying that his brother called him and that the legendary band is finally getting back together… only to tweet the next day that it was just a joke. Or it’s Noel who, instead of answering yes or no when asked, gives vague responses like « Definitely Maybe. »

But this time, the rumor doesn’t come from a Gallagher but from several external sources. First, someone on Reddit claimed to know someone who knew someone who said that Oasis would be returning next year for a few concerts at Wembley Stadium. Subsequently, numerous anonymous sources confirmed this information. Then, a former member of Creation Records, the first label to sign Oasis, also confirmed it. Next, Frankie Rizzo, a close friend of Liam Gallagher, confirmed it as well. And finally, Liam Gallagher responded to all the skeptics by saying, « See you down the front you big fanny. »

Of course, as long as no official statement has been made about this, the information should be taken with a huge grain of salt. Additionally, even if the information were true, there is no guarantee that the two brothers won’t be at odds again by 2025.

2025 : An Ideal Year

But if a reformation of Oasis were to take place, 2025 would be the ideal year. First of all, it will mark the thirtieth anniversary of (What’s The Story?) Morning Glory, their most popular album which includes all their big hits (Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger, Champagne Supernova…). Reforming the band for this anniversary would be a guaranteed success. And honestly, as much as we would love it, we can’t really picture them reuniting for the anniversary of Be Here Now, Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, and all the subsequent albums. Of course, they could wait for the fortieth anniversary of the first two albums in 2034 and 2035. But do we really want to see Oasis with a Noel Gallagher nearly 70 years old and a Liam Gallagher over 60?

Additionally, the Gallagher brothers’ solo careers seem to be on hold. Liam Gallagher has no album announced for next year. And Noel Gallagher has already announced that his next solo album won’t be released before 2026 or 2027.

Finally, on the personal side of their lives, things seem to be clearing up as well. Noel Gallagher has always said that one of the reasons he didn’t want to talk to his brother was the number of times his brother had publicly insulted or even threatened his wife. Indeed, from 2016 to 2022, we saw Liam Gallagher making dozens and dozens of tweets publicly insulting his brother’s wife. It’s easy to imagine that, in such a situation, a family reunion was impossible. But since the end of 2022, Noel Gallagher and Sara MacDonald are no longer together. Worse still, according to British tabloids, Noel reportedly had to pay several million euros for the divorce. One more reason to believe that reuniting Oasis could very easily help him recover those lost millions…

Lastly, last week, the official Oasis account published a recent interview with Noel Gallagher in which he showered his brother with compliments.
